Charlie Shavers
(Aug. 3, 1917, New York, NY – Jul. 8, 1971, New York, NY)
Charles James Shavers played piano and banjo before he switched to trumpet. Worked with Tiny Bradshaw, Lucky Millinder, and John Kirby in the 1930s and 40s. One of his compositions, "Undecided," became a jazz standard. Later he worked with the CBS studio group and Tommy Dorsey’s Orchestra.
